Chef Francesca Mallus
Francesca Mallus and I met because of our love for food and our passion for cooking. Francesca was born and raised in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy and specializes in Italian-Mediterranean food. She has worked in different restaurants in the South and North of Italy as well as Atlanta, Georgia. Currently Francesca is living in Los Angeles and is a private chef. Those who are lucky to taste her food (I have not yet) will find that she has been heavily influenced by her family traditions and Sardinian techniques, like homemade pastas!
When I first met Francesca I was drawn to her energy, smile and openness. I was pitching her a new concept and wanted her to join me on creating a new type of dining experience. She saw my vision and we immediately began thinking up creative concepts and working towards a collaboration. Although we haven't yet brought the concepts to life, we have become great friends who still love to talk about food and our dreams to travel the world.
A taste of Francesca:
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
My favorite part of my job is that it is a very creative job and I am able to express myself in what I cook, bringing my Sardinian style in the world!
I also enjoy the connection between traveling and food. Going out there to get ideas and inspiration is exciting.
ANY TIPS FOR OTHER LADY BOSSES?
Take your breaks when you need them. Find the balance between your career and enjoying life. Try not to be obsessed by money, do what you love and do it with a big smile! Share your knowledge genuinely. Be more open and think that if you give you get!
WHAT WOULD YOUR LIFE TASTE LIKE & WHY?
Pistachio gelato, because it is sweet and salty just like life.
